Larry Jones Urban Ministry Development Coordinator “Let the children come to me do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God…” Mark 10:14 I am so excited to see what unfolds for the Central Orlando region, and I am overall so honored to be a part of bringing children (and their families) into relationship with Jesus through Crossroads! I enjoy reading, journaling, hanging out with good friends, and spending time quality time with my Savior Jesus. I am married to my wonderful husband Brandon, and we are patiently waiting for the Lord to bless us with our own children. I am originally from Aurora, IL, but moved to Orlando, Florida to attend Nations College in the fall of 2023 for ministry. I will do whatever I can to support Crossroads, as they have committed to bringing children into the fullness of Jesus Christ through creative kingdom discipleship. Always be looking for opportunities to improve yourself so that you continue to increase your effectiveness in leading others, inside your small group and beyond. You might want to gain new skills relating to working with kids or you may be interested to increase your own personal knowledge of Scripture. To be a better leader, find ways to grow yourself. Try to get to know them as they pick up their kids, or reach out to them with a text, phone call, or note in the mail just letting them know how much you love having their child in your group. Take it upon yourself to connect with the parents of children in your group. Get to know your team members and learn how each person is uniquely gifted and how you can work together most effectively. Work with your team to reach kids in your whole club, to serve the families and the school. See yourself as part of a larger vision than just your small group. Stay with your kids throughout the whole club time, including large group and game time. Your group should feel like a safe place to belong and be cared for, like a family. #3 Own your group.Īct as the spiritual mentor for your group of kids. Be present with your kids both physically and mentally (no distractions!) during your time with them. #2 Consistently show up.īe there weekly, and don’t miss club except for emergencies. Come to club early to make sure you are ready and have all your team leader’s instructions before the kids arrive. Pray for God to help you teach and love the children in your group.
